In loving memory of Timothy Lee McDaniel, 75, a longtime resident of Rantoul.
He was born on March 5, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio and passed on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at home. He was a good father, brother and friend to anyone that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, F.G. (Mac) McDaniel; his mother Esther M. (Burggref) McDaniel; and two brothers, Dennis F. McDaniel and Michael G. McDaniel.
Tim was a truck driver for many years, a supervisor for ESS and delivered meals to the homebound for Peace Meal. His loss is deeply felt by everyone who knew him.
Tim was a 1966 graduate of West Muskingum High School in Zanesville, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Alice McDaniel, married June 20, 1969 on the Grand Forks, N.D., Air Force Base; a brother, Pat (Carole) McDaniel in Orlando; an uncle, Gene McDaniel, Ohio; two daughters, Staci Wagers, Mahomet and Jesse (Chris) Marshall in Thomasboro; two sons, Jason McDaniel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Jeremy McDaniel in Ludlow, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Brandan (Jill) McDaniel, Ceara McDaniel, Shelby McDaniel Hensley, Chase Wagers, Baylee McDaniel, Roczen Marshall and Teagan Marshall; four great-grandchildren, Iris McDaniel, Noelle McDaniel, Blaire McDaniel and Vira Vazquez; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 on Thursday morning at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 311 East Grove Ave., Rantoul. Fr. Joel Phelps will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow immediately at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 1800-1894 County Road, 3000 North, Rantoul.
