Richard Lee Bergman

Richard Lee Bergman, 77, of Fisher, IL passed peacefully after a short illness on October 30, 2023 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL.

He was born November 25, 1945 in Champaign, IL, a son of Henry and Helen (Freese) Bergman.  He married Diane Stroh on November 25, 1972 in Anchor, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving are his son, Eric (Andrea) Bergman of Decatur, IL, daughter Katrina Bergman of O’Fallon, IL.  He was a loving Opa to Alia Marie and Simon Henry Barcus of O’Fallon and to step-grandson Joel King of Decatur, 2 brothers Keith Bergman and David (Dee) Bergman, sister Rhonda (Rick) Roesch, brother -in-law Louis Stroh and sister-in-law Linda Bergman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Kevin, son-in-law Adrian Barcus, nephew Ben Bergman, sisters-in-law Lois Bergman and Edie Stroh.

Richard graduated from Fisher High School in 1963 then spent 6 years (1965-1971) in the US Navy.  He then began farming with his dad and brothers.  He liked to meet up for coffee with his farming buddies in Fisher.

A gathering for friends and family will be on Friday evening from 4 – 6 at Lux Memorial Chapel,1551 East Grove, Rantoul.
