Jeannette Sarah (Kosky) Lefkowitz

Jeannette Sarah Kosky Lefkowitz, 87, of Rantoul passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Nov. 17, 2023, at Country Health Care and Rehab, Gifford.

Born on Nov. 2, 1936, in London, she married Herbert “Lefty” Lefkowitz on Sept. 3, 1958. Herb and Jeannette moved to the United States in 1961 to raise their beautiful children. Jeannette was the brightest mother to Gina (Joe) Grill of Rantoul and Mark (Carol) Lefkowitz of Gibson City. Jeannette is survived by her five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Additionally survived by her closet friend, Vivian.

She was preceded in death by her son David; her parents, Margaret and Charles; brother, Percy; and sister, Pamela.

Jeannette was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to those who knew her. Her home was full of kindness, wisdom and grace, as well as tea, cookies and the neatest home record player.

After a lengthy battle against Alzheimer’s, the family finds comfort knowing that she is now reunited with the man who has missed her terribly. The family would like to thank all those who assisted in her care including Transition’s Hospice, Villas of Holly Brook, her home care giving team and the team at Country Health of Gifford.
