Dion S Ratts

Dion S. Ratts, 52, of Rantoul, IL passed away on the morning of Monday, July 17, 2023 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL.

He was born July 10, 1971 in Marietta, GA, a son of Darryl Ratts and Stephanie Gallagher.

He is survived by 2 children, Amanda (Jesse Grimes) Ratts of Rantoul, Leonard Ratts of Dana, IN, 2 grandchildren, Jesse Jr and Alexander, his father Darryl Ratts of Decatur, IL, His mother Stephanie (Tim) Gallagher of Winchester, TN and his brother Joshua (Whitney) Ratts of Champaign, IL.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lacey Blair.

Dion was a 1989 graduate of Urbana High School. He worked as an automotive/diesel mechanic at Corky's Service and Safety Lane, Rantoul and formerly at Ron's Trucking.  He was previously a manager  at Jim Hawk in Champaign.

He loved his music; generally heavy metal and he was always talking about his fishing.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Friday morning at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 East Grove, Rantoul.  Pastor Terry Sheppard will officiate.
